Travel should be fairly trouble-free for New Yorkers as compared to residents of some other major cities. Three major airports are based in the metro area, and 70 airlines fly out of JFK International Airport with nonstop flights to cities on six continents. And, that's not mentioning the hundreds of flights out of LaGuardia and Newark. For globetrotters, escaping the city is a no-brainer –– and inevitable to boot –– especially when NYC gets to be too cold, too hectic, or too overwhelming.
